Abdulkareem AlGharaballi is an Associate with Meysan Partners corporate division, focusing primarily on commercial transactions, trust structures, and general corporate matters. Mr. AlGharaballi has previous experience as an economist having worked as an Economic Consultant. Mr. AlGharaballi is a member of the Massachusetts State Bar as of March 2019.

Mr. AlGharaballi has a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law, where he completed two concentrations; Business and Commercial law, and International Law and Human Rights.

Mr. AlGharaballi gained experience in civil litigation during his time at the Greater Boston Legal Services where he represented indigent clients in Small Claims Court. He also has extensive experience in intellectual property having participated in the Intellectual Property Clinic, where he cleared and filed several federal trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on behalf of local entrepreneurs.

Selected experience includes representation of:

Advising the National Investment Company on their acquisition of a 44% equity stake in Boursa Kuwait, the Kuwait stock exchange in a deal valued at USD 65 million. The deal included a bidding phase organized by the Kuwait Capital Markets Authority prior to the launch of the privatization process which required careful attention and coordination with the management consulting firm, Oliver Wyman, and Kamco, a leading investment bank in the Gulf region, and legal counsel.
Acted for Arabian Motors Group, representing Ford Motor Company in connection with the registration of a new Kuwaiti commercial agent, and in connection with the defense of claims in local courts brought by Arabian Motors Group against its previous Kuwaiti commercial agent. Both the termination and the registration arrangements were made under Kuwait’s new commercial agency law which came into force in March 2016.
Acting for Mobile Telecommunications Company (Zain) on the two largest public M&A transactions in Kuwait in 2017 – the disposal of treasury shares to Omantel for USD 900 million, and Omantel’s follow-up acquisition of a 12% stake in Zain by the Al-Kharafi family for USD 1.35 billion.
Advised the government of Kuwait on the $85 billion development of Madinat al-Hareer (Silk City), a 450 square kilometer city on the northern coast of Kuwait Bay with residential, leisure, commercial and industrial components, including road, rail, sea, and airport infrastructure.
