Rowaida Hijazi

Rowaida Hijazi is a Senior Associate at Meysan Partners. She is a member of the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice.

Rowaida brings over 20 years of experience in domestic and cross-border transactional and litigation services by representing hundreds of local, multinational and international clients across diverse industries and sectors including, among others, F&B, FMCG, Distribution, Manufacturing, Retail, Hospitality, Insurance, Aviation, Energy, Humanitarian services. Throughout her professional years, Rowaida built an extensive legal experience in all aspects of commercial, corporate, criminal and regulatory matters.

Her experience includes drafting and reviewing contracts, commercial transactions, advising on licensing and regulatory issues, providing legal memoranda, initiating legal actions and drafting pleadings and motions; in addition to the general day to day legal services which include incorporation services, providing legal opinions, and addressing emerging legal issues.

  • Represented a major aviation company and successfully defending them in a commercial liability dispute against a Lebanese company for a claim US$ 40 million.
  • Represented a major clothing and accessory companies in a connection with an indemnity claim related to an alleged termination of contract on the basis of a pretended exclusive distribution relation
  • Represented an international hotels & resorts company in Lebanon in cases related to the manager’s responsibilities and employment issues
  • Represented a large Korean power company in a lawsuit initiated against EDL before the State Council for a value of US$ 10,000,000
  • Advised a large restaurant chain in Lebanon on matters related to trademark infringement and unfair competition in Lebanon and other Arab countries
  • Advised a leading courier services company and represented the client in an objection before the ministry of finance on the surplus and redundant tax that was imposed on them
