Meysan Partners, acting for Daimler AG, obtained a favorable judgment from the Kuwait Court of Appeal upholding the Court of First Instance’s denial of a 320-million Kuwaiti dinar claim against Daimler AG.
The appellant had appealed the Court of First Instance’s judgment and sought compensation in the amount of 320 million Kuwait dinars for the termination of the Mercedes-Benz commercial agency in Kuwait and subsequent granting of said commercial agency to Al-Mullah Group. Amongst several procedural and substantive arguments, Meysan Partners argued that the appellant’s claim was barred. The Court of Appeal affirmed the Court of First Instance’s judgment denying the claim and imposed costs on the appellant.
