Omar Adel

Omar Adel is a Counsel at Meysan and a member of the firm’s corporate team.
He has extensive experience in corporate transactions and advisory work, including providing legal advice on capital market law, handling legal due diligence, and drafting and reviewing various types of legal agreements. 

Omar also advises clients on antitrust and market control matters in accordance with Egyptian competition law. His expertise includes organizing distribution networks, drafting distribution agreements, handling competition disputes, and advising companies on the use of trade defense instruments, such as anti-dumping and safeguard measures.

  • Represented and assisted SNCF in its participation (in a consortium) to a public tender issued by the Egyptian Government for the engineering, procurement, construction and operation and maintenance of a new high-speed train line (Al Alamein new high-speed train line). 
  • Represented Arcelor Mittal in the context of the anti-dumping proceeding and the safeguard measures respectively initiated by Egypt against imports of steel billets, rebars and wire rods from all origins, including Ukraine. 
  • Represented the Commercial International Bank (CIB) on the acquisition of Citibank’s Egyptian consumer business.  
  • Represented Development Partners International on the acquisition of 33% of B.TECH.  
  • Represented an international investment fund on the acquisition of 55% of an Egyptian industrial company.
