Following an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for a prohibited substance commonly found in cough medicine, the International Testing Agency (ITA) – the entity that prosecutes doping cases for various sports federations – called for the imposition of a two-year suspension on the athlete pursuant to the WSF Anti-Doping Rules.
Through its submissions to the ITA, Meysan procured the immediate end of the suspension, limiting the period of ineligibility to the time served.
The Meysan team relied on the decisions of various anti-doping agencies of sports federations and the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), which ultimately led the ITA (following a fair and objective analysis) to authorize the athlete’s immediate return to competition.
The athlete was represented by partners Bader El-Jeaan and Tarek Badawy, and Senior Associate Salma Abdelaziz.
